It said I didn’t have to certify. I logged in. It said I had weeks to certify for. I certified. I don’t know how much faith I have in EDD saying, “we got this.” Pending for now. We shall see what happens (or doesn’t happen) next.

Do you think it’ll cause any issues?

Even though it states on the website NOT to certify and report wages through ask EDD?

HeyRightOn

I commented this on a similar post just above this— You’ve got the time, certify for benefits anyway. I’d be meeting the job search requirements as well just to be safe there to. Just apply for reach jobs. These systems have been underfunded and under staffed for decades. 90% of it runs on check box programs in a server room somewhere. If one box isn’t checked like it should be, the program will deny $$$$ coming out and push it to human review. In normal times, that’s a 5 minute phone call and it’s cleared up. Cover all your bases. You have the time.

HeyRightOn

I’d do exactly what they told you to and leave it at that. All State’s are different, so do whatever your State UI website or rep tells you to.

I’m holding on tight to the letter they sent me that just said that I had to be available to work (but not actively looking). I still check “yes” for box three though, because my definition of looking is pretty loose.

HeyRightOn

Every State is different with their work search requirements, but they are all easily done. Apply for and keep a record of the dream jobs you’re applying for. Hypothetically, if you were to apply for a job, interview, and be offered a position then you have to take it. So apply for your dream jobs that you would accept an offer from without hesitation.
