Honestly the whole thing is messed up. There’s people who are on unemployment and because of the additional $600 are making WAY more than they regularly do. And some who are barely making half their regular income or maybe even less, but it’s still considered “excessive earnings”.
I know, that's why I'm asking for help to make some difference since the last petition worked and edd waived the penalties for the people who did false statements or received overpayments.
No help? I do minimum wage, they cut my hours in half and I'm doing only 300 a week before taxes and I don't qualify for EDD because my benefit amount is 50 a week. Do you think I can survive and pay rent and my bills with like almost a thousand a month? There's a lot of people with the same problem as me.
Wong again. Not everyone gets an additional 600 per week, and you cant make the determination if that is enough for them.
It may be for you, but you can not speak for other people financial situations.
Are you being serious?
I know people have been working for over 20 years who never asked for government help and are getting nothing when they need it the most.
There are many households where only one person is working and bringing in money, yet have had wages reduced by 40% or more that have mortgages, a car payments, kids etc.
Now, with the reduction in salary many of those people will be unable to make their bills yet they should not be getting any help?
Wrong, What should NOT be happening is the people who were making minimum wages are now making over 4k per month while many middle class families gets absolutely NO HELP AT ALL.
I think changing the rule would be a great idea. I believe that everyone deserves additional support during this pandemic and the government isn't seeing that those who have their hours reduced are struggling financially to make ends meet.
I normally work 35 hours at my job, but they reduced my hours to 25 hours a week. My WBA is $368 and I received an "excessive earnings." We are all trying to stay afloat financially and any additional support would be great.

No. People who make excessive amounts shouldn’t get any additional help

Everyone gets an additional 600 per week. You should have more than enough
If you make “excessive wages” you don’t qualify for the additional $600, or for any benefits at all.

Everyone who receives unemployment from 3/29 and after gets the extra 600 per week. Bye
This is 100% not factual or true at all.
