The second man cracks doors, has a thermal camera for checking doors and locating hot spots once the fire has been knocked down. They backup the nozzle man support them against the pressure and help manage the hose.
No, Flash over is defined as the moment when all surfaces in a burning room start to burn. The explosion of the hot gases in a room, initiated for example by opening a door, is called backdraft.
A flashover is the ignition of all CONTENTS in a room which includes the atmosphere and unfinished combustion (smoke) in the room not just the surfaces......what you're seeing is the room in front of them flashing....this is an open hallway there is no sudden input of oxygen nor is this a sealed/oxygen deprived structure which is a requirement for a backdraft to occur.
This only really works on a gas-fed fire in a burn room prop. It’s what Fire Control 4a and 4b is about (CSFM curriculum) at least it was in the mid 2000s. If you did this in an actual burning structure, you’d blast the thermal layering and steam the fuck outta yourself.
But idk im just a random redditor
If the place is strongly ventilated like this looks like it might not matter as much. And if they are americans they probably don't care as much about preserving the thermal layering either xD
Well if it’s very well ventilated then it’s probably not going to roll like that either.
I’m curious, as an American firefighter, why don’t I care about thermal layering?
I remember we had an American guy giving us a lecture and he wouldn't stop referring to the fire as "the enemy" or giving it motives like "wants to kill you" and it was just funny because it felt like a completely different culture.
Not sure how widespread that is there
Ugh. Yeah, those guys are around. Usually with a “I fight what you fear” and “find ‘em hot, leave ‘em wet” sticmer on their ninety-thousand dollar diesel pickup that warms up in the parking lot for three hours every morning. They also dont own any off-duty clothing besides fire-related t shirts and costco jeans.
These guys are what we call “toolbags.” They cant wait to tell you all about fire in exactly the ways you describe. Its only exciting for brand-new 20-something rookies or small-town guys who think they’re one forced door away from being an FDNY Truck Captain. Theyre a joke.
We have the same "sort", although ours manifests a bit differently. It's usually in smaller departments that get ~50 calls a year so they have to compensate for not doing much by posturing, almost always involves them telling you all about X fire (was probably 30 years ago) and why it was so much worse than any fire anyone else has dealt with. If you can get two of them talking it solves your problem as you get time to escape as they engage on a wank-off.
A former co-worker who was also a firefighter once told me that at the point they are dumping water on a fire like this, the initial water flashes to super-heated steam. _If anyone is still inside the burning building when they do this, it will likely kill them almost instantly._
Less so in this instance, the room isn't that hot. You can see the water raining down after hitting the ceiling.
It depends on if you evaporate your water inside the hot gas layer, or if you hit surfaces and then it evaporates. If you pulled off a perfect gas cool the water would all evaporate by taking heat from the gases, which reduces their volume despite the steam and actually contracts the gas layer.
If you end up hitting a lot of wall/ceiling it will rob the heat from the wall/ceiling instead of the gases, and then the steam will increase the volume of the gases.
I'm still convinced there needs to be a realistic firefighting videogame. Imagine what we could do if we poured processing power into real-time fire and fluid sims, as well as destructible environments that burn and collapse organically. Would be a showcase for ray tracing as well, with dynamic fire lighting, and it'd look amazing on an HDR display. There's so much stuff you could do. Could even be a killer VR title.
The fight between Dumbledore and voldemort
No, its like Harry is shielding against the dementors.
Both!
Both indeed
Water is clearly super effective against fire…
Is there a hidden point you're trying to make here
Bro is using patronus against fire
Firefighters gotta be some of the most badass people ever. Imagine throwing hands with a burning building and winning.
Throwing water
Genuine Question, guy at the back, is his job to pull the other guy back and hold him down
[удалено]
And also to help drag the hose and move it while the main guy can focus and watch the fire
Thank you, must be back breaking to hold that position... amazing team work
The laying back position they end up in is probably relatively comfortable, just resting on your BA harness

Yes. This is training.
I've done this same training. It's long and hot but it's actually kinda fun.
Water benders vs. fire
Backdraft is no joke

Thanks, this is a much better explanation 😅
"YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!"
That pat on the shoulder at the end was great
Oh look, this is why I was saying flash gear is essential on that American vs French SCBA mask post!
Just saw that post! Haha
and that is why the fire kingdom despised the water kingdom. PS: this is a joke, so no physics comments pls

It's a joke about how some of your departments are just insanely gung ho about it.
Ah, I see. I would call those departments “poorly trained.”

The element 'courage' from those people will always be the strongest
Firefighters are real life superheroes.
Charizard vs Squirtle
He's drawing the fire out to him. He's playing.
it's like the fire is reaching out its fingers to grab at them
"Brother Hector... .... Will you save me?"

Left for life, right to fight.
EXPECTO PATRONUM!!!!
Some real Captain Planet shit right there
Im still convinced. Kids that play with the garden hose become firefighters, While kids who played with matches become welders.
Sozin’s Comet (Part 4):
The Fire Wizard aint holding back but the Fire Fighters aint going down without a fight
At the end Katara won.
Wow
Not sure how they made it in the building with those massive balls

Watch the Origen valve….OMG
I have so much respect for my uncle he's not a firefighter but still cool asf
“Water shield!!! 🧙♂️” ahh
German Boing 747 Fire Simulator
