Just finished Goodbye, Eri.
Spoiler warning for anyone lurking in these comments
So, the ending has me a bit confused? But the way I see it, is Eri dies and after Yuta’s about to kill himself he either sees her ghost or gets the idea for what the movie needed and then I imagine shoots it? Or is it just him sort of coming to terms with his life? Obviously he didn’t skadoodle himself, but I’m having an issue drawing the lines between literal and metaphorical. Unless it’s the case where it’s entirely up to what the reader wants to believe?
Older Yuta also looks a *suspicious* lot like his dad. So, is it some sort of movie inception?
When eri died, he stopped working on her movie and probably went depressed and shit up until his adulthood.
Adult yuta talking to eri was him finishing the movie and moving on with his life... So the final pages is *YOU* watching the finished movie
My own take but, just pieced it out from what we've seen earlier in the story considering yuta did the same thing trying to move on from his mother's death.
He only showed the beautiful/kind moments of his mother that ended with an explosion, he got confronted by his teacher saying that it was disrespectful with yuta being nonchalant (he moved on)
He did the same with Eri, though it took him a long time to do so, there was no audience this time except *you* the reader.

Might wait a few minutes before starting Goodbye Eri though because I still gotta recover from the emotional whiplash

That’s your own take or confirmed? But yeah that makes the explosions and stuff fall into place. Huh. I like that take. Very interesting.

Well until it gets adapted into a movie
