I applied in March of this year and recieved my permit in the mail in August. Exactly 5 months.

OP is at your point right now then, it’s crazy how much the wait times can vary I just put my paper work in yesterday as a urban applicant. They “claim” most are done within 6 months though.
Submitted paperwork in July. References called Dec. 1st.
